Content-based WCAG issue detection beyond classic scanners — tonality, clarity, link sense, microcopy.

What it does

Function in one sentence — and in three sentences

Tools like Axe, Wave, and Lighthouse detect technical WCAG violations—missing alt text, poor contrast, untagged headings. What they not identified: content-related problems such as unclear link texts, nested sentences, and ambiguous microcopying.

The AI audit assistant adds this semantic layer to the technical scanners — it reads your page as an audit expert would.

This is how the plugin implements it.

Technical measures

  • Page-by-page scanThe HTML content is extracted for each page and passed to the AI.
  • Multi-Pattern PromptAI searches for 12 content patterns (unclear link text, sentence too long, ambiguous microcopy, missing pause during reading, ...).
  • Severity rating: critical / important / nice-to-have.
  • Proposed solution per issue, not just "issue found".
  • History trackingIssues are tracked per site over time — you can see if it's improving.
  • export: Audit report as CSV / PDF, which can be included in a WCAG audit.

  • Model: Precise model recommended (Sonnet/Opus, GPT-4)
  • Scan frequency: daily / weekly / on-demand
  • Threshold: critical only / important only / all
  • Progress tracking duration: 6 / 12 / 24 months
  • Automatic email notification for new critical issues: on / off

When do you need the module?

Use case

Highly recommended prior to a planned manual audit — reduces the issue list that the expert would otherwise have to find manually. Significantly saves audit costs.

Important: Replaces none Manual audit by a certified expert. The legal declaration of conformity requires a manual assessment — the AI audit is a preparatory tool.
