Ready to go in just a few steps
Agent Manager runs as a local macOS app. This is the direct path from "nothing installed yet" to "first agent team running".
Beta program
~15 minutes
These four things you need
macOS 13 or later
Apple Silicon or Intel. Older versions are not actively tested in the beta.
Active AI subscription
At least one: Claude (Pro/Team) and/or OpenAI (ChatGPT Plus/Team/Enterprise with Codex access).
≈ 800 MB memory
App + local server. Project data is also stored locally in your Documents folder.
Network — but no vendor lock-in
Internet access is only needed for Claude/OpenAI. No API keys, no cloud intermediary, no trackers.
Five steps to a running app
- 1
Prepare the vendors' CLIs
Agent Manager uses the official command-line tools Claude (Claude Code) and Codex (OpenAI). Installation is possible via Homebrew, npm, or direct download—instructions are included in the beta email. Users of only one vendor only need to install the corresponding CLI.
- 2
Request beta access
Register via the tester form. We will contact you personally and send you a download link for the latest macOS build as well as a short onboarding PDF.
- 3
Install the app
Open the DMG file and drag "Agent Manager" into the Applications folder. On first launch, macOS will ask for Gatekeeper permission—confirm, and you're done. The app includes a lightweight local server that runs exclusively on... localhost listens.
- 4
Register with the providers via OAuth
In the account tab, click on "Connect with Claude" or "Connect with OpenAI" — your default browser will open, you log in to the provider and grant the app access. The tokens will then be deposited into your account. macOS Keychain; we don't see them.
- 5
Create your first project
In the cockpit, click on "New Project," select a project template (e.g., "Website Project"), and define the default provider. Folders, boot prompts, roles, and rules will be created automatically. Then: connect the first agent and start the chat.
Three steps to make getting started easier
You have the app open and created your first project? These three steps will pay off immediately.
- Maintaining rules and regulations: One or two sentences about tone and taboos are often enough — agents adhere to them.
- Populate the knowledge database: Save your favorite prompts, templates and patterns once, and all your projects will benefit.
- Establish a routine: For example, checking the mailbox in the morning or a weekly backup routine. You notice the difference immediately.
If something is stuck
Gatekeeper complains at startup
Right-click → "Open" instead of double-clicking. Confirm once, and the app will start directly.
OAuth login gets stuck
Log in and out of Claude or ChatGPT in your web browser, then restart the login process in the app.
CLI not found
In the app settings, manually set the path to the CLI (default: /opt/homebrew/bin/ or ~/.npm-global/bin/).
Mailbox empty
Mailbox entries are only created once an agent has been started. Tip: Prompt the coordinator with "Please get an overview".
Otherwise, feel free to ask directly.
Write to us briefly at herrmann@digelite.de — we will reply personally in the beta version, usually within one working day.
Questions about installation and setup
Which macOS version do I need?
macOS 13 Ventura or later is recommended. Older versions are not specifically tested in the beta – we welcome any feedback on this.
Can I try the app without a tester account?
Agent Manager is currently only available through the beta program. You will receive the download link via email to the same address after registering as a tester.
Do I need to take out two subscriptions?
No. One is enough — either Claude or an OpenAI subscription (ChatGPT Plus/Team/Enterprise or a Codex-compliant OpenAI account). Both together give you more flexibility in choosing a provider per agent.
Do I need an API key?
No. The app uses the official CLIs Claude and Codex. You register with the providers yourself once via OAuth — we don't see any login credentials and there are no additional token costs.
What if the OAuth login fails?
Check that you are logged into the respective web account (Claude or ChatGPT) and that your default browser is open. If you encounter problems, restart the process from within the app—the tokens are stored locally in the macOS keychain.
Where is my project data located?
Locally on your Mac under ~/Documents/AgentManager/. The mailbox, knowledge base, and all configurations are file-based, versioned, and exportable — no cloud intermediary.
How do I uninstall Agent Manager?
Move the app from the Applications folder to the Trash. Optionally, delete ~/Library/Application Support/AgentManager/ and your own data directory. You can remove the OAuth tokens in the macOS Keychain individually from there.
No access yet?
You will receive the download link for the app via email after registering as a tester. Requirements: macOS and an active Claude and/or OpenAI subscription.
