Function & Modules
- What distinguishes this plugin from overlay widgets?
- Overlay widgets place a JavaScript layer over the page—the actual HTML/CSS code remains unchanged. DigElite directly intervenes in the DOM and CSS: ARIA attributes are correctly assigned, heading structures are repaired, and contrasts are checked in real time. The result is true WCAG compliance instead of a conformity simulation.
- What WCAG level does the plugin achieve?
- The plugin provides the Technical requirements for WCAG 2.1 AA At the theme level, AAA criteria (e.g., 7:1 contrast, plain language) are accessible via the premium or AI modules. Content criteria (alt text, link descriptions, language level) must be maintained editorially—the AI modules assist with this.
- Can I activate/deactivate modules individually?
- Yes, all 20 modules have their own toggle. For example, you can use only ARIA + skip links and leave all AI modules disabled. There are no dependencies between modules.
- How much performance does the plugin cost?
- The mechanics modules load approximately 35 KB of CSS + 28 KB of JS (minified, gzip). This is smaller than a typical hero image. The AI modules are running. only on-demand, therefore no performance impact during normal page loading.
- Will the plugin work with my page builder?
- Tested with: Divi, Elementor, Gutenberg, Bricks, Oxygen, WPBakery, Beaver Builder. With custom-built themes or less common builders, individual modules may require adjustments — we'll clarify this in our initial consultation.
License & Maintenance
- How is the plugin licensed?
- GPL-2.0 or higher (standard for WordPress plugins). You may copy, modify, and use it on as many of your own websites as you like—but you may not resell it as your own product without our permission.
- How often is an update released?
- Updates coming as needed — for WCAG changes, new best practices, and discovered bugs. On average, 1–2 releases per month. Security fixes within 48 hours.
- What happens if I cancel the plugin later?
- You keep the installed version. It will continue to function, but will no longer receive updates. Your content remains untouched—the plugin writes nothing to the database that would be lost upon deactivation (except for your own settings).
- Will I receive specific price information?
- Prices depend on whether you use the plugin as Standalone, as part of a Audit Partner Package or as part of a Web project maintenance You will receive it. We will tell you the appropriate price in a 15-minute initial consultation — fair and individual.
GDPR & AI
- Is data being sent to DigElite?
- No. The mechanics modules run exclusively locally on your server. The AI modules communicate directly with the AI provider (Anthropic/OpenAI/your own server), not with us.
- Do I need a data processing agreement with DigElite?
- Only if we handle the plugin installation or ongoing maintenance. If you run the plugin yourself, DigElite is not a data processor.
- What must be included in my privacy policy?
- When you activate AI modules: the respective AI provider, purpose, legal basis. We provide text templates. No additions are necessary for the mechanics modules (no data processing).
- Does the plugin store visitor data?
- The frontend panel settings are located in localStorage Stored on the visitor's device — not on the server. No cookies, no tracking, no personal data shared with DigElite or others.
- Is the plugin compliant with the EU AI Act?
- The AI modules fall under "Low-Risk AI" (content tools, no decisions about people). Therefore, no audit requirement For the AI modules according to the EU AI Act, transparency obligations (labeling of AI-generated content) are provided in the plugin via the "AI-generated" label.
Theme & Migration
- Does the plugin work with Divi themes?
- Yes, Divi is our primary test theme. We have special adapters for Divi Builder structures (Section/Row/Column) that make ARIA corrections cleaner than generic solutions.
- What about custom themes?
- Custom-developed themes usually work without modification. With very old themes (pre-2018), it may be necessary to add a few classes—this is standard practice, not unusual.
- Can I move from an overlay widget?
- Yes, migration is a standard use case. We uninstall the overlay, activate the DigElite plugin step by step, and test the effect of each module. This typically takes 2–4 hours per site.
- What if my theme causes conflicts?
- In case of a conflict, the plugin delivers Diagnostic logs In the backend. You or we can isolate the conflict. In 5 years of experience, no theme has ever been completely incompatible.
Support & Audit
- Do you offer support?
- Yes. Email support is included during the current license period. Response within 1 business day, faster for security issues.
- Does the plugin provide an audit report?
- Yes, the AI audit module exports an issue list as a CSV file. This list is used in many WCAG audits as technical evidence accepted — but it does not replace a manual audit for the legal declaration of conformity.
- Do you conduct your own audits?
- We are Audit partner, We are not an audit provider in the strict sense. This means we prepare sites for audits and hand them over to certified experts. We provide a list of recognized audit partners.
- Does the plugin help with the BFSG obligation?
- It covers the technical part The plugin fulfills the BFSG (code compliance, ARIA, keyboard, contrast) requirements. It partially covers content-related requirements (understandable language, correct alt text, accessible PDFs) – but not completely (AI modules). BFSG is code + content + explanation; the plugin is the "code" component.
